Kenyan rapper Kaligraph Jones Aka Papa Jones blew the internet after exposing the MCSK. Khaligraph Jones shared a screenshot of Mpesa message showing that he had received Ksh. 2,530 as royalties from the Copyright Board with a warning message to the society as a caption.

“MCSK Siku Moja Tutakuja Kuwavuruga uko Mbaya Sana, Msijaribu kunitumia izi peanuts tena, Infact I have given Authorization for my Music to be pirated, Don’t collect money on my Behalf anymore, Nisiskie mmeshika mtu akicheza Wimbo zangu kwa street, msinitumie izo peanuts zenu tena, The OG shall be respectedHe wrote.

He infact made it pretty clear to the MCSK that he has granted his fans the ability to pirate his music and was capable of collecting that amount of cash himself and didn’t see the need for the MSCK to do it for him.

This lead to a social media up roar of other artists that indeed provoked hilarious reactions ,Jasper Murume for commented“Watolee wimbo OG”.

Kwanza Kabisa I thought it was just @khaligraph_jonesanazusha then I got my fair share. Watu kama @SautiSol watatumia hii doh aje surely?? If my math serves me right 2500 * 15,000 members that’s 37,500,000 , MCSK are you sure you collected 37M in one year. Na nikikuja kwa your offices it’s all new cars na muliingia kwa ofisi mkiwa kwa Boda. This is very sad and siku moja tutakuja kwa hizo ofisi. Kukula jasho ya Mtu Mwingine ni laana. Anyway Wacha nikanunue nyumba Na hii pesa yangu, if you are selling a property kindly DM serious DMs only. Sasa ntaambia nini watoi wangu? ”

King Kaka also had a say on this and mentioned that all along he thought he was the only one receiving trifling sums of this money and had round up of approximately how much they may have collected… which apparently summed up to almost 37 million.

So to them all this was a sham. Khaligraph Jones stated that if they (The MSCK) intended to continue sending the peanut money then they sure had to up their game in paying for his shows too. Nutshell,….the artists don’t want royalties especially with warning.
